FAQs

What can I expect during my initial consultation?

During your first visit, we will discuss your medical history and what your primary concerns and goals are. We will then move into the physical examination where we will do a movement assessment, as well as a head to toe assessment. If applicable, we will do an internal pelvic floor exam at this time. I will present my findings to you, and then I will present you with a few options for moving forward with care.

Do you take insurance?

No, Haven Physical Therapy & Wellness is a private physical therapy practice that is not contracted with insurance. I work with the patient directly, and the patient pays for their care directly. I can provide a superbill that you can then submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

Can I bring my baby?

Yes! Your sessions are your time. If you are most comfortable bringing your baby, they are always welcome.

Will I need follow up appointments?

After a full, formal evaluation, I will let you know whether I believe it is clinically indicated for you to have follow up treatment sessions.

What should I bring and wear to my first visit?

Wear whatever you are most comfortable in. I will likely be asking you to perform some basic movements, so it would be best to wear something you feel comfortable to move a little in.

Do I need a referral from a physician?

No, you do not need a referral to see a doctor of physical therapy in the state of California.

How long are the sessions?

The discovery call is 15 minutes. Evaluations and treatment sessions are 50+ minutes.

What are the costs?

Each patient’s healing journey will be unique to them. All follow up treatments will be specific to the individual and their needs. After our initial evaluation, I will be able to let you know specific costs depending on which option is best for you.
