A Healing Space for Women

Compassionate, thoughtful care

Haven Physical Therapy was born out of a desire to create a safe space for women to feel seen, cared for and heard. After working in a variety of settings, and seeing gaps in women’s health care across the lifespan, I made it my mission to create a clinic that helped bridge a gap in the field of pelvic health. Haven means a safe place or refuge. When women are searching for healing in such a vulnerable part of their body, they deserve a space that is exactly that.

Dr. Erica’s Story

Where It All Began

Dr. Erica’s journey to healthcare started at a young age, when she was intrigued by physical therapy while being a patient herself, recovering from chronic ankle sprains as a ballerina. She decided in high school that physical therapy would be her route, and she never looked back.

Finding Her Specialty

She completed her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science, and then immediately began graduate school to receive her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. While completing clinical rotations during her program, Dr. Erica was introduced to pelvic floor physical therapy. She was compelled to pursue this niche of physical therapy after experiencing pelvic pain herself and receiving care from a compassionate physical therapist. Immediately after graduating from APU with her doctorate, she completed her orthopedic residency at Kaiser LAMC as well as all of the continuing education required to specialise in pelvic health.

establishing her philosophy of care

Dr. Erica is passionate about meeting patients where they are at, and creating a safe space where patients can come and feel seen and heard. She desires to educate and empower patients to understand what is going on with their bodies and be able to make informed decisions about their care and health. This is one of the reasons she is so passionate about pelvic health and women’s health.

Motherhood & a shift in perspective

After having her two girls, Dr. Erica has become increasingly dedicated to treating pelvic health conditions alongside orthopedic conditions. She loves where these two worlds come together, because in reality you cannot separate orthopedics from pelvic health. We all have one body with many parts that need to work together in order for us to be healthy, thriving beings, so we need to be treated as a whole person.

Personalized care, always

This is how Dr. Erica strives to treat her patients. It is her priority each and every visit to listen to you, and to treat you as a whole person. Your goals are extremely important, and they are what your treatment sessions are focused around. It is Dr. Erica’s hope that you feel like your concerns and desires are being heard and acknowledged every step of the way.
